어린 시절 처음 들었을 당시에도 좋아했었지만 그 뒤로 이삼십년동안 수없이 많이 들으면서도 그때마다 항상 정말 대단한 곡, 대단한 가수 (겸 배우) 라고 감탄을 하게 되는 노래 중의 하나이다. 90년대에는 영화감독으로도 활동했었지만 지금은 가수 활동도 하지 않는 것 같고 2004 년에 나온 영화 "Meet the Fockers" (Meet the Parents)의 속편에서 주인공 벤스틸러의 어머니 역으로 나온 것을 본 뒤로는 내 눈에 띈 적이 없다. 개성이 강한, 혹은 특이한 인상의 소유자이기도 한 바브라 스트레이젠드... 현역으로 뛰는 모습은 더이상 볼 수 없겠지만 가끔씩 듣는 그의 노래들은 계속 내 애청곡의 일부가 될 것이다.
